Tronc Payment / Payslip Calculation Example:
This example illustrates how our Tronc Payroll System calculates Net Pay Due (NPD) for each employee after tax deductions.
Scenario: 3 employees share a total tip pool of £1200, with varying grades and working hours.
Tip Pool (TP) = £1200
Total Deduction (TD) - Tax @ 20% = £240
Net Pay Due (NPD) = £1200 - £240 = £960
Total Share Units = 60 + 80 + 40 = 180
1. Employee 1: 40 hours × 1.5 grade = 60 units = (60/180) × £1200 =
£400 (Gross)
£400 - £80 (Tax @ 20%) = £320 (NPD)
2. Employee 2: 40 hours × 2 grade = 80 units = (80/180) × £1200 =
£533.33 (Gross)
£533.33 - £106.67 (Tax @ 20%) = £426.66 (NPD)
3. Employee 3: 40 hours × 1 grade = 40 units = (40/180) × £1200 =
£266.67 (Gross)
£266.67 - £53.33 (Tax @ 20%) = £213.34 (NPD)
