The eStatement function gives you the option of letting your subcontractors log on to the eFileReady website to view and print their respective Payment and Deduction statements (eStatements). They can do this after you have successfully eFiled your CIS 300 Monthly Return to the DIT.

SECURITY: For security reasons the eStatement itself will not be sent to the subcontractors. Instead, only a reminder for the eStatement will be broadcast to those subcontractors of your choice. To view and print their respective eStatements the subcontractor will have to log on to the eFileReady homepage, through a secure tunnel (SSL), in the same way they log onto a bank website to view and print their bank statements.

Optional: You can start the eStatement function at any time convenient to you. Partial implementation of eStatements is allowed, which means you can choose how many of your subcontractors have access to the eStatement function. You can still send out Statements in the traditional printed format to any subcontractors you choose not to have access to the eStatement function.

Implementation: eStatement is very simple to implement. For existing CIS users you just need to add the subbies email address into the new CIS 300 spreadsheet / CSV file. The way you populate the data and the way you upload the CSV file to the eFileReady server is exactly the same as what you have been doing. The email reminder will automatically be broadcast to the chosen subcontractors from the eFileReady Server once your monthly return is eFiled. Once your subbies receive the email reminders they can get their eStatements by logging in to the eFileReady website. Subcontractor user support will be provided by eFileReady for free.

ADVANTAGES: The immediate advantage of eStatements are that they cut down on your printing and postage costs. Statistically each Statement you print and send out by post could cost you up to £5 each, which is far more than you pay eFileReady. Once you have eFiled your returns, your eStatement reminders will be sent out at the same time, so all jobs are done at once. All the eStatements due to the subcontractor will stay filed in the eFileReady website for 3 years for the subbies to view and print at anytime, as many times as they want. This will cut down your additional support requests and allow you to have more time to concentrate on your core business.
